New Resource: JSTOR Ebooks

Pepperdine Libraries initiated a three-year ebook program with JSTOR on July 1, along with other libraries in the Statewide California Electronic Library Consortium. Books are now accessible on the JSTOR platform.

The JSTOR evidence-based acquisitions ebook program offers unlimited access to more than 40,000 high quality, DRM-free ebooks from 54 publishers. After the first year of unlimited access, Pepperdine Libraries will select titles to acquire for perpetual access, using the usage data as a guideline.

More than 2/3 of the publishers are University Presses, and 98.75% of the books are in English. Top subjects covered in this JSTOR ebook program include History (25%), Literary Criticism (11%), Political Science (8%), Social Science (8%), and Religion (5%).

A few of the major University press publishers included are Princeton University Press, Yale University Press, University of Pennsylvania Press, University of California Press, University of Minnesota Press, and Cornell University Press. Books from Fortress Press and Pluto Books are also included.

Books are cross-searchable with journal articles at jstor.org, and may also be found in the Pepperdine Libraries catalog:
