Pepperdine Libraries Promotes Two and Appoints Two New Librarians

Pepperdine Libraries is pleased to announce that two new librarians are joining the staff and two current librarians have been promoted to its leadership team: Anastasia Armendariz and Bailey Berry (new hires) and Sally Bryant and Marc Vinyard (promotions).

Pepperdine Libraries Appoints Lucy Perrin Director and Archivist for the Rushford Center and the Churches of Christ Heritage Collection

Pepperdine Libraries has appointed Lucy Perrin as the director and archivist for the Rushford Center and the Churches of Christ Heritage Collection, effective August 1, 2022. Dr. Jerry Rushford, who has served as the founding director since 2009, will move into the role of curator effective August 1, 2022.

Jerry Rushford to Present at Harbor 2022

This week, the Office of Church Relations hosts Harbor 2022, the 79th Annual Pepperdine Bible Lectures, where thousands of visitors come from all over the world for a four-day conference on the Word of God. The theme for this year is "No Other Jesus: Cross-Centered Ministry in 2 Corinthians." Jerry Rushford, who oversees the Churches of Christ Heritage Collection, is an expert on the history of Pepperdine University. He will again be presenting at Harbor, sharing his treasure trove of knowledge during three sessions. Jeffrey Bowen, the director of library programming and public affairs, sat down with Jerry to discuss his involvement with Harbor, the subject of his talks, and his legacy at Pepperdine.

Pepperdine Libraries Adds Two New Digital Collections

Pepperdine Libraries has added two new digital collections to its growing list of online resources. Scholars worldwide can now easily access photos from influential photographer Leigh Wiener and images of artworks from the Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art.

Depicting the Resurrection in the Saint John’s Bible

Pepperdine Libraries is the proud owner of a beautiful copy of the Heritage Edition of the Saint John's Bible. As Easter approaches, we prepare to turn the page of the volume of Gospels and Acts, currently on display by the spiral staircase in Payson Library. This season we will have it open to John 20:1-23 and the illustration of the resurrection that accompanies the passage.

Pepperdine Libraries Publishes Pat Boone Digital Collection

Pepperdine Libraries is pleased to announce the launch of the Pat Boone Digital Collection. This new collection features more than 75 objects from Pat Boone's personal archive. Pat Boone is the actor, singer, author, and songwriter for whom the Boone Special Collections and University Archives is named. The collection includes setlists, personal correspondence, and photographs with presidents, family members, and fellow performers on stage and in the studio. The Libraries is privileged to share a snapshot of Pat Boone's life and achievements.

Who Was St. Patrick?

St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner. Though many of us think we are celebrating Irish culture by dressing like leprechauns or decorating with three-leaf clovers, these fun activities do not fully represent the historical and religious meaning of the holiday.
