Pepperdine Libraries are trialing medici.tv through October 20, 2017.
Medici.tv is described as “the leading educational video resource in classical music, opera, and dance”. The site broadcasts more than 100 live events each year, from venues and festivals such as Carnegie Hall, Bolshoi Theater, Opéra national de Paris, NCPA, Glyndebourne Festival, Lucerne Festival, Verbier Festival, Salzburg Festival, International Tchaikovsky Competition, International Chopin Piano Competition, Plácido Domingo’s Operalia Competition, and more.
Medici.tv’s library features over 1,800 programs (3,000 original works), including:
- Concerts and archived historical concerts;
- Documentaries, artist portraits and educational programs;
- Master classes.
Additionally, Medici.tv’s library includes artists such as Martha Argerich, Daniel Barenboim, Khatia Buniatishvili, Natalie Dessay, Joyce DiDonato, Plácido Domingo, Gustavo Dudamel, Renée Fleming, Valery Gergiev, Janine Jansen, Jonas Kaufmann, Evgeny Kissin, Lang Lang, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Riccardo Muti, Kent Nagano, Anna Netrebko, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Gianandrea Noseda, Sir Simon Rattle, Anoushka Shankar, Yuri Temirkanov, Rolando Villazón, Yuja Wang, as well as Claudio Abbado, Leonard Bernstein, Maria Callas, Glenn Gould, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, and Herbert von Karajan.
