New Advertising Databases

Pepperdine University Libraries now subscribe to two advertising databases, Ad$pender and MRI+ University Internet Reporter.

Ad$pender (4 simultaneous users) provides media expenditure overview, tracking advertising expenditures for millions of brands across 12 media types (including Network TV, Cable TV, Syndication, Spot TV, Magazines, Sunday Magazines, National Newspapers, Newspapers, Network Radio, National Spot Radio, Outdoor, US Internet – Display). Users can sort expenditure information by category, parent company, subsidiary, and brand, and sort top spenders by industry, parent, and brand.

GfK MRI+ University Reporter (10 simultaneous users) provides access to GfK MRI’s Survey of the American Consumer for academic use. The Survey of the American Consumer provides a detailed view of the 226 million adult consumers in the U.S. and includes demographics, lifestyles and attitudes, and usage of almost 6,000 products in 550 categories. University Reporter also allows students to tap into several market segmentation reports, such as Top Markets. Faculty, students, and staff will need to register for an account using their @pepperdine.edu e-mail address, and enter a registration code obtained from a librarian.
