Dean of Libraries, Mark Roosa announced today the launch of the Pepperdine Textbook Loan Program. In collaboration with the Seaver College Student Government Association, the libraries have purchased a collection of textbooks that support the general education curriculum at Seaver College and will make these textbooks available to students on a first come first served basis.
Five copies of each title are available to students. About half of all titles will be available for a one-week check out, along the lines of the iPad loan program that the library offers. The other half of titles is available for use in the library only.
The initiative, which has been in the works for several months, received strong support from the SGA in a resolution that was approved earlier this semester.
“We are delighted to offer this service to students and believe it will support in a new way our goal of serving the learning and study need of students,” said Dean Roosa.
SGA representative Edward Adutwum who spearheaded the project with the library noted, “the Student Government Association is thrilled to partner with Pepperdine Libraries to deliver a program that will benefit Seaver College students. The Pepperdine Textbook Loan Program at Payson Library is yet another example of how the Pepperdine community is partnering to support the academic endeavors of our students.”
A list of textbooks available through the Textbook Loan Program can be found on the library’s website at: http://infoguides.pepperdine.edu/textbooks. Textbooks may be checked out at the Circulation desk in Payson Library.
